In conjunction with the exhibition American Artists from the Russian Empire at The San Diego Museum of Art, Dr. Frances K. Pohl will speak on the life and work of Ben Shahn, the Lithuanian-born American artist known for his works of social realism and his political activism. Pohl is chair of the department of Art and Art History at Pomona College and has authored two books on Shahn. Guest Lectures take place in the James S. Copley Auditorium.
